According to the donor, this is part of 'status' suit range, and was part of range developed from Prue Acton's 1988 Melbourne Cup outfit. Other versions were in different fabrics eg. wool with crocodile trim. The 'Status suit' range represented the rise of the corporate woman in the 1980s. Large shoulder pads typicalyl feature.
Physical Description
A two-piece navy linen-viscose two piece suit. Collarless with sash draping across front. The fabric has a sheen and very fine diagonal stripe weave. The lining is navy polyester.
