Summary
This dress was designed and manufactured in Melbourne by Prue Acton P/L in 1971-1972. According to donor, it was made from left-over fabrics which had not sold well. Was apparently very popular and referred to as 'Gardening' clothes. It originally retailed for $34.50.
Physical Description
Ankle length cotton dress with buttoned back opening in blue and beige batik print. The upper front bodice is a patch piece in floral which is repeated on lower left skirt with buds appliqued in lime green and blue, and bound in red. The cap sleeves are ruffled, the left is red, the right is lime green. The back shoulder piece is a blue patch.
