Summary

Husqvarna treadle sewing machine. The sewing machine belonged to the donor's mother-in-law, who migrated to Australia from Sweden in 1948. She purchased it new around 1949-1950 while she was living in a house in Manton Street, Heidelberg, Melbourne.

The machine was used through the 1950s and up to about 1965 to make curtains, clothes, etc. It remained in the family after her death; no other family members used it as they either had their own or did not do sewing.
