Summary
Poster with the slogan 'Australia Land of Tomorrow' designed by Joe Greenberg, and produced by the Department of Immigration, circa 1948. It was produced to promote immigration to Australia. Mr Greenberg was approached by the Department of Immigration to design the poster when they saw his work as an illustrator for the Herald. These posters were displayed in Displaced Persons camps in Europe.
This poster is an example of promotional material used to encourage immigration to Australia. Such material illustrates the ways in which Australia was portrayed, providing images which often contrast with the realities immigrants experienced once they had arrived in this country.
Physical Description
