Summary
This framed hand coloured photograph depicts Gerald Telford, the son of trainer Harry Telford, riding on the back of champion racehorse Phar Lap. It belonged to the family of his trainer Harry Telford family, and was amongst a number of items donated to the museum by them in the 1990s.
Physical Description
Black and white photograh of Phar Lap with a small boy wearing jockey silks and cap on his back. The horse is standing in a grassy paddock, in front of a hedge and a wooden fence. The horse and the boy's jacket and cap have been hand tinted. The photograph is in a cream cardboard mount, and framed under glass in a wooden veneered frame. There are two metal hanging loops attached to the back of the frame.
