Summary
Form titled 'Financial Support Guarantee', printed by A.J.Arthur, Commonwealth Government Printer, and issued by the Commonwealth of Australia, circa 1950s. Following World War II the Cohen's, were asked to sponsor the immigration of a young unmarried English mother (described to the Cohen's as a fallen woman) and her child to Australia.
The application process took two years. The application was approved, conditional to Henry Cohen guaranteeing the woman accommodation, employment and general support so that she would not become dependant upon government support. As these forms are blank we can only assume the Cohen's received duplicate copies, submitted one and Henry Cohen kept the blank forms amongst his papers.
Physical Description
Cream coloured foolscap form to assuring the government that a child would be supported if the mother was unable to.
