Sold in South Australia on 22 March 1918 in aid of the Soldiers' Hostel. The State War Council Soldiers' Hostel was located in King William Road, Adelaide, funded 'almost entirely by patriotic citizens'.
State War Councils provided practical assistance, employment support and soldier settlement in each state during and after World War I.
Physical Description
Metal badge in colours of yellow, blue, white and brown. The image depicts the sphinx in Egypt with a pyramid in the distance and camels in the foreground. Inscription around edge. The badge is fastened by a pin at the back which slots into a hole in the back. .
