Summary

British Passport issued to Evelyn Rowell in 1920. Evelyn migrated to Australia from England in 1921 on the Beltana. A domestic servant, she came out from Basingstoke to meet up with her sister who was already settled in Australia (and may have assisted her with her fare). Evelyn worked on a cattle station in Queensland where she met her future husband Charles Warr, who was working as a roustabout (labourer).

Evelyn and Charles had seven children and settled in Wangaratta, living a simple life, camping out with Charles working at a rope works, as well as doing some timber work and flourmilling - this was Depression time. In the 1940s, the family moved to Parkdale.
