Blue vinyl cap issued by ANARE for use in Antarctica sometime after 1966.
This is part of Museum Victoria's collection of artefacts from the post-war era of scientific exploration of Antarctica.
Physical Description
This is a peaked nylon or vinyl cap that is blue in colour. It has a flap running around the base of the cap to cover the ears and the neck. Inside the cap there is a lining of beige synthetic fur. At the front of the cap is the peak. This is the only section of the cap that is not lined in the synthetic fur. Two-piece crown.
