Summary
Marriage Certificate for Karina Zars and Aloizijs Nartiss, dated 25 May 1946. The certificate records that both were born in Latvia, Karina on 9 February 1925 and Aloizijs on 26 May 1924. Their occupations are recorded as a music student and draughtsman respectively.
In 1947 Karina and Aloizijs had a daughter, Liga. They migrated to Australia in 1949 after spending time in a displaced persons camp in Ludwigsburg in West Germany from 1948-49. In Australia Karina, who had trained as a dancer, worked as a photographic model and was featured on the last paper 10 Pound note, issued in 1956.
Physical Description
Rectangular certificate on white paper, discoloured with age, printed, with typewritten additions. Two stamps on lower left corner stamped wit h town of Sillenbuck stamp. The same stamp, larger, on bottom centre of certificate.
