Summary

Certificate issued to Karina Zars (later Nartiss) by the Latvian National Committee, dated 27 October 1945. The certificate states that Karina Zars, born on 9 February 1925 was looked after in the Latvian camp in Fischbach, and is now going on a journey to Kiel to look for her family.

Karina married goldsmith Aloizijs Nartiss, born 26 May 1924, and the couple had a daughter Liga in 1947. In 1949 they migrated to Australia after spending time in a displaced persons camp in Ludwigsburg in West Germany from 1948-49. In Australia Karina, who had trained as a dancer, worked as a photographic model and was featured on the last paper 10 Pound note, issued in 1956.
