Summary

Hand-made crochet lace tea cosy. It was probably owned by donor's great-grandmother. It is believed to have been made circa 1900-1920 and was used in Melbourne.

Physical Description

Tea cosy made of blue satin, generously padded, and with semi-circular hand-crocheted lace panels on either side featuring triple tulip motifs. The panels are joined together with lace strips. Sides and top of tea cosy have ruched effect. Inside is lined with floral cotton. Satin is sewn very roughly to inside.
