Summary
Traditional red knitted scarf, worn by girls in Argentina. It was made for Marie Pregal by her grandmother in Argentina. Marie's grandmother sent her the scarf shortly after she had migrated to Australia with her parents and brother in 1965. The family decided to leave Argentina because they saw Australia as holding more opportunity, and because Mr Pregal, who was of Calabrian ethnicity, already had family members living here.
