A piece of standard-issue canvas with thin blue stripe; hems on four sides have been unpicked. The cloth has been covered with red writing within squares drawn with blue ink. The script appears to be Romanian. Each letter has been blocked and there are no spaces between the words, only crosses. The words 'Carmenia Octamum' are written in green ink as part of the heading for the work.
