Summary
Table runner embroidered with a traditional Lefkas design, made circa 1970s. It was most likely given to Irene Soumilas as a gift either sent over by Friends or relatives or brought with them when they visited. Irene migrated to Australia from the Greek Island of Lefkas in 1958 at the age of 19 to be married in 1959. Her dowry travelled in two trunks by ship, although she travelled by air.

Rectangular table runner with an embroidered floral design in green, orange, white and gold on a neutral background. There is gold thread fringing on the two shorter sides.
