Summary
Table runner with an embroidered duck motif, part of the dowry of Irene Soumilas. Irene migrated to Australia from the Greek Island of Lefkas in 1958 to be married in 1959. Her dowry travelled in two trunks by ship, although she travelled by air. Many of her dowry items were made by local craftswomen. This duck motif was very fashionable in Lefkas when Irene's dowry items were made.
