Summary
Alternative Name(s): Sling Shot, Catapult, Shanghai
Slingshot hand-made in the mid-1980s. It is part of the Australian Children's Folklore Collection. The ACFC is unique in Australia, documenting contemporary children's folklore across Australia and in other countries, reaching back to the 1870s. The Collection has a strong component of research material relating to Victoria.
Physical Description
Slingshot fashioned from a forked tree branch, quite sturdy construction, with a short handle. A piece of narrow black elastic is tied with white string onto each fork. A piece of light brown leather is attached between the rubber to form the sling. The wood is in its natural state; not stained or varnished.
