Summary
Note with list of Deaths of James Panton, Christina Douglas and David Panton. In 1851-1852 the Panton family made arrangements to emigrate to Port Phillip through the British Colonial Land and Emigration Office. The family was struck by tragedy shortly after arriving, Christina and two of her children, David and John, died within three months of their arrival. Robert Panton, an agricultural labourer from Berwickshire, married Christina Douglas in 1839.
