Newspaper cutting with a poem titled 'Under the Rose'. It was probably collected by one of the Panton family in Australia. In 1851-52 Christina and Robert Panton, an agricultural labourer, made arrangements to emigrate to Port Phillip through the British Colonial Land and Emigration Office. The family was struck by tragedy shortly after arriving, Christina and two of their young children died within three months.
