Item HT 919 Sticker - Free the Refugees Close the Camps, Resistance, circa 2002

Summary

Orange sticker with the slogan 'Free the Refugees, Close the Camps', it was issued by Resistance circa 2002. Resistance is a socialist Australia-wide organisation of young people. It aims to build a mass radical youth organisation; and organises young people in struggles against sexism, racism, environmental destruction, attacks on workers' rights, attacks on students' rights, and every aspect of capitalist oppression. Resistance created the slogan 'Free the refugees, close the camps' in response to the hunger strikes of asylum seekers in Woomera detention centre in January 2002.

Physical Description

Rectangular orange sticker with black printed text. The back of the sticker has a series of German swear words with English translations written in blue ink.
