Summary
One of a series of photographs taken by Museums Victoria staff member Lorenzo Iozzi as part of a project to document the experiences of Victorians during the second COVID-19 pandemic lockdown of Melbourne. This image shows members of the police patrrolling the streets in a relatively deserted Melbourne to ensure that people are not violating the lockdown restrictions in force. The police pictured had approached the photographer moments before this image was taken to question his reasons for being on the streets during lockdown. He was only permitted to continue photographing after presenting a permit letter from Museums Victoria, outlining the Museum's commitment to document the impact of the pandemic throughout Melbourne and Victoria.
