Summary

Box of Clauden, made by Luitpold-Werk, circa 1940 used in the pharmacy of a mental health hospital, Victoria, Australia. Unused free sample. Clauden, which is obtained from animal tissue, promotes coagulation of blood. Used in cases of haemorrhage, accident and in surgery.

Physical Description

The drug 'clauden' is contained in 6 x 10cc brown glass ampoules shaped like tiny wine bottles with tear-shaped necks. They are in a flat cardboard box with lift-off lid. Base is shaped into separate compartments for each ampoule to lie in. There is a small sealed packet which may contain needles (probably files). There are 2 different instruction leaflets from manufacturers Unused free sample. Emptied by conservation.
