The photograph shows Jane Kay, the likely creator of the patchwork quilt in the Museum's collection (HT 48723, Quilt - Patchwork, Kay Family, Scotland, circa 1840s), along with her daughters Jean and Catherine Kay who cared for the quilt. It was later brought to Australia by their niece Valerie Margaret Smith (nee Kay).
