Summary
A promotional booklet aimed at Asian exhibitors for the Asian Trade Fair, Exhibition Buildings, 19-25 May 1975. The booklet promotes the trading opportunities available in Australia for out Asian neighbours. The booklet includes official government endorsement from the Prime Minister, Gough Whitlam and the Victorian Premier and Melbourne Lord Mayor. The invited countries included countries throughout Asia, the Pacific and the sub-continent, including China who had only recently re-opened to the West. The booklet and the Fair show how important the Asian region was becoming to the Australian economy in the 1970s.
Physical Description
Rectangular white booklet. Front and back covers features two full-colour views of Melbourne in mountain-shaped frames, with a kangaroo hopping over them. Inside greetings from the Prime Minister of Australia and other dignitaries as well as information for exhibitors.
