Summary
Ball of cotton brought to Australia by Giovanna Tenace when she immigrated from Italy in 1939. In Italy Giovanna had worked making fishing nets since the age of ten and expected to continue this work in Australia. However she found work on a farm and this ball of cotton, a net needle and completed fishing net became mementoes of her former life.
Physical Description
Long length of off white cotton thread wound tightly in a misshapen ball.
