Summary
Alternative Name(s): Scrap Book
Green scrapbook, apparently complied by a Miss Jones in Bendigo, labelled 'For Miscellaneous Scraps'. Pages have images of women, pastoral scenes, ships, flowers pasted onto them. One card in the scrapbook is dated 1867, but clothing illustrated suggests later 19th century.
The scrapbook was part of a group of items from the National Trust of Australia (in a bag labelled 'NT 20'), which came to Museum Victoria with the Australian Children's Folklore Collection (ACFC). The ACFC is unique in Australia, documenting contemporary children's folklore across Australia and in other countries reaching back to the 1870s. The Collection has a strong component of research material relating to Victoria.
Physical Description
Bound scrapbook with guarded pages (interleaving pages removed to allow for thickness of pasted items), with green hard cover bearing inscription. Pages are blue or cream and bear images such as women, pastoral scenes, ships and flowers which have been pasted onto them.
