Summary

Black & white postcard showing the southern facade of the Exhibition Building circa 1943. The postcard, which is not post-marked, was printed as part of the Southern Cross Series P594.

A handwritten inscription on the reverse reading 'I trained here for ten months' indicates that the postcard belonged to a Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) trainee. The Great Hall of the Exhibition Building was used by the RAAF as barracks and a training centre between 1941 and 1946.
