Summary
Embroidered floral single bed sheet, part of the dowry of Irene Soumilas. Irene migrated to Australia from the Greek Island of Lefkas in 1958 to be married in 1959. Her dowry travelled in two trunks by ship, although she travelled by air. Many of her dowry items were made by local craftswomen, although other items were given to her by family and friends still living in Greece.
Physical Description
White single bed sheet with scalloped edging on three sides. There is a boarder of embroidered flowers, made of two sets of a row if pink, blue and orange flowers, followed by a row of embroidered pink flowers. There is a single embroidered purple flower in each semi-circle of the scalloped edging.
