Summary
Blanket orange and tan wool, which forms part of the dowry of Irene Soumilas. Irene migrated to Australia from the Greek Island of Lefkas in 1958 to be married in 1959. Her dowry travelled in two trunks by ship, although she travelled by air. Many of her dowry items were made by local craftswomen, although other items were given to her by family and friends still living in Greece.
Physical Description
Woven wool blanket, with tan pattern on orange background, and tan blanket stitch around edges. The design consists of a repeating geometric motif boardered by double lines on each side.
