Summary
Brown cloth monkey puppet made by Georgia Dereani and a Bulgarian woman, circa 1957. Georgia Dereani, her husband and infant son immigrated to Australia from Trieste, Italy, in 1955. They spent the first five years of their lives in Victoria at Bonegilla Migrant Camp. Georgina and her husband became staff members at Bonegilla and were allocated private accommodation, which Georgina went to great lengths to make comfortable, purchasing many household items around Albury, NSW. Georgia also loves to sew and crochet, and often made items for her house and her friends at Bonegilla, however she claims that she did not have the aptitude for this kind of task, that it was not her 'cup of tea.'
Physical Description
Brown cloth monkey, dressed in a collar and tie, a red and green hat and wearing glasses.
