Radio made by Phillips, it was purchased by the Dereani family in Trieste, Italy circa 1950s. Georgia Dereani, her husband and infant son immigrated to Australia from Trieste, Italy, in 1955. They spent the first five years of their lives in Victoria at Bonegilla Migrant Camp. Georgina and her husband became staff members at Bonegilla and were allocated private accommodation, which Georgina went to great lengths to make comfortable, purchasing many household items around Albury, NSW. Attilio and Georgia Dereani share a great passion for music, particularly classical music. Attilio would write songs in Italian and Georgia would sing. They would often share meals with other staff members at Bonegilla in order to listen to and discuss music.
