Summary
Advertising card made by Museum Victoria in 2000 to promote the Royal Exhibition Building (REB), featuring an image of the dome taken by James Lauritz. Melbourne Museum opened on its new site in Carlton Gardens, directly opposite the REB, in 2000. The card provides an explanation of the importance of the REB architecturally, culturally and socially. The card also promotes the international significance of the building as being the oldest and most complete surviving example of a great exhibition hall, a feature of International Exhibitions held in the latter half of the nineteenth century.
