Jakas Soft Toys was a Melbourne-based company which designed and manufactured genuine high quality soft toys from 1956. Their range included teddy bears, golliwogs and Australian native animals.

Jakas Soft Toys ceased production in the late 1990s outlasting many local toy manufacturers competing with cheaper overseas imports.

Physical Description

A single page A4 size colour photocopy of an advertising flyer with images of a range of animal soft toys and wheat packs. The top left-hand image shows a group of Australian animal soft toys including a Sugar Glider, Quokka, Emu, Echidna, Numbat and Tortoise. The top right-hand image shows two koala soft toys, known as the 'Flag Koalas' one with the Australian and American flags on each of its pads and the other with the Australian and Japanese flags on each pad. The middle left-hand image shows a tortoise shaped wheat pack and a heart shaped wheat pack. The middle right-hand image shows a range of teddy bear designs. The bottom left-hand image shows a kangaroo and koala soft toy and the bottom right-hand image shows a range of 'jungle animal' soft toys including a lion, zebra, giraffe and elephant. 'Jakas Soft Toys' is printed in black at the top of the flyer with the 'Australian Made' logo printed in black in the top right-hand corner.
