Physical Description

Cream certificate with brown & sepia print mounted in a heavy cream cardboard frame. The certificate depicts a stone archway on which grape vines are growing. To the left stand a group of 3 women all with garlands of fruit & leaves on their heads. They are holding a scythe (representing grain), a vine and an assortment of fruit. A basket of fruit is beside them along with a shovel and rake. A man harvests wheat in the background. At the bottom, a grape press decorates the banner containing the signatures of the Chairman and the Vice-Chairman of the Exhibition and the Honorary Secretary. The lithograph is by Izett Watson, Artist, Melbourne. The certificate was awarded to Thomas Gaunt for Clockwork and Emu Eggs.
