Hand-made traditional Japanese Samurai hat, folded from paper. Made and donated by Mrs Masumi Jackson, 1988.
Forms part of the Australian Children's Folklore Collection (ACFC). The ACFC is unique in Australia, documenting contemporary children's folklore across Australia and in other countries reaching back to the 1870s. The Collection has a strong component of research material relating to Victoria.
Physical Description
Hand-made traditional Japanese Samurai hat, folded from paper. The paper is brown rice-paper, with red, green and yellow coloured fibres embedded. the hat is triangular in shape, with two wings and a central triangular panel on the front. The side points of the hat have been folded inwards.
