Traditional Vietnamese counting game consisting of 75 wooden pieces contained in a wooden box. The game was donated to the Australian Children's Folklore Collection in 1992.
The Australian Children's Folklore Collection is unique in Australia, documenting contemporary children's folklore across Australia and in other countries reaching back to the 1870s. The Collection has a strong component of research material relating to Victoria.
Physical Description
Traditional Vietnamese counting game consisting of 75 wooden pieces contained in a wooden box with a separate lid. The playing pieces are large round discs, numbered from 0 to 9. Each disc consists of a base, a round number and an appropriate number of small discs. They come apart and the object of the game is to put them back together. Colours used are white, red, yellow, green, brown and pink. The playing pieces stack into a square wooden box which has a separate fitted lid, but no hinges. Text on both sides of the box.
