Summary
Certificate issued to Mrs Bradley by the Royal Victorian Institute for the Blind appointing her as a Life Governor dated 1942. Such certificates were sometimes allocated by a large donor, e.g. a local authority. In response to a donation, they had the opportunity to nominate the recipient of this honour, and it was given in recognition of some form of civic activity which had not been recognised in any other way.
Physical Description
Framed certificate in tin decorative frame, slender, with glass, fairly loose. The certificate is decorated in brown, with a border, and illustrations. Across the top is a picture of the Institute's buildings and gardens; down the left side are small cameo drawings indicating Recreation, Industry, Education and Nursery. List of patrons, board members and office bearers, etc. are on the upper right and left of the certificate.
