Framed notice - Associated Stock and Station Agents of Melbourne Conditions of Sale for implementation 1st November 1982. Hung outside the Council Administration Office at the Newmarket Saleyards.
The Newmarket Sales commenced with the ringing of the bell at 8am. Before any livestock auction, the clerk or auctioneer read the specified Conditions of Sale. As soon as the conditions of sale (commonly known as 'prayers') were completed, they were signed off and the auctioneer started the bidding.
Physical Description
Framed notice. 15 articles, with space for signature, printed on a flattened triple-folded sheet that has been repaired with adhesive tape. Paper backing. Frame is wooden, plain, with masonite backing. Metal plate protruding from either side to mount frame.
