Summary
Leather-bound presentation album containing sixty-one monochrome gold-toned photographs by Ludovico Hart of exterior and interior views of the Melbourne International Exhibition, held at the Exhibition Building between 1 October 1880 - 30 April 1881.
The album was commissioned by the Exhibition Trustees and presented to Jonathan Binns Were (1809-1885), a member of the Melbourne International Exhibition Commission.
Physical Description
Brown tooled leather cover with gold impressed lettering and gold tooled decorative border, floral pattern. Each photograph is mounted on heavy buff coloured card and has a simple black line border with a title beneath the photograph. XRF testing has established that the photographs in this album were processed using a gold toner.
