Summary
Pasta roller given to Giovanna Tenace when she married in Italy. Giovanna immigrated from Italy to Australia in 1939, bringing the roller with her to continue making pasta in Australia. In Italy Giovanna had worked making fishing nets since the age of ten and expected to continue this work in Australia, however she found work on a farm instead.
Physical Description
The handle of the pasta roller is made of wood. Extending from the end of the handle is a metal shaft which splits into two prongs. Between the prongs is a circular piece of metal with crimped edges used to roll over the pasta. The prongs and metal disk are joined by by a thin piece of metal that is welded at both ends.
