The document was donated Jim Gorman's daughter. Gorman was manager of the Mitchell Family Estate, 'Doonside'. David Mitchell was the builder of the Exhibition Building (1879-1880) and father of Dame Nellie Melba.

Black ink on white lined paper, two signatures at the bottom. Beside the signatures is a green Victorian postage stamp to the value of one penny.
