Postcard with a reproduction of Charles Nuttall's painting of the opening of the first federal parliament of Australia, which took place on 9 May 1901 in the (Royal) Exhibition Building, Carlton Gardens, Melbourne. Printed by Empire in 1902, after the unveiling of Nuttall's commissioned art work.
Physical Description
Rectangular postcard with gloss finish. Front has reproduction of the Charles Nuttall painting depicting the opening of Federal Parliament. Text box along bottom edge with white text. Reverse text printed in black ink. Hand writing in brown ink. Upper corner Empire symbol incorporating coat of arms. Mark at right upper corner where postage stamp had been removed.
