Summary
This is a colour postcard of the Exhibition Building showing the eastern facade from Nicholson Street circa 1915. The photograph shows the French Fountain and several statues, people walking in the grounds, the Eastern Annexe, electricity poles, lamp posts and the tram line on Nicholson Street. The postcard, which is unused, was printed in Great Britain by Valentine & Sons Publishing Co. Ltd. and was written aboard the TSS Hororata at Fremantle, Western Australia.
Physical Description
A black & white photograph of the Exhibition Building showing the eastern facade, annexe to the right, circular garden and path, statuary and lamps in garden, metal fence and gates into Nicholson Street, notices, statues and people. On the reverse there is a handwritten message and address in black ink. In the upper right hand corner there is a red one penny Australian postage stamp showing a profile of Edward VII and postmarked Western Australia, 26 April 1915. The card was written aboard the TSS Hororata at Fremantle and was published by Valentine & Sons.
