Summary

This is a colour postcard featuring an image of the Melbourne Town Hall and an image of the Exhibition Building from south west in 1908. The postcard, which has a handwritten inscription on the reverse, was made by WT Pater, printers & stationers, and is decorated with the flags and crests of Australia and the United States of America.

The postcard was most likely produced to celebrate the Great White Fleet's visit to Melbourne in 1908.

Physical Description

A colour tinted postcard showing a picture of Melbourne Town Hall, Exhibition Building, flag and crest of USA, flag and crest of Australia, decorative surrounds and wattle design. On the reverse of the card the initials WTP inside a floral diamond are printed in the middle at the top. This is the trademark of WT Pater, printers and stationers. There is a handwritten inscription and address in black ink.
