Summary

This is a colour postcard of Melbourne showing the south west facade of the Exhibition Building and five other views of Melbourne, including two views of the Yarra River, Princes Bridge, Malvern Gardens and Hawthorn Bridge. The postcard, which has a handwritten inscription and address on the reverse, was printed in Great Britain by Valentine & Sons as part of the Valentine's Series.

Although the postcard has no date or postmark the imagery of Melbourne, showing horse & buggies and men wearing hats, allows the card to be dated to pre 1920. Further confirmation of this date can be found from the era of street lighting depicted & the type of cable tram seen in the Princes Bridge photograph, which operated no later than 1927.
