Summary
Letter written on United States Commission, Melbourne International Exhibition (MIE) letterhead from Betsey to Kittie, dated 24 January 1881. Betsey writes about acquaintances made 'on the steamer over' from the United States to Melbourne.
The MIE was held in the (Royal) Exhibition Building from 1 October 1880 to 30 April 1881. The United States Court looked a bit depleted for most of the Exhibition, the first consignment of goods for display having been lost at sea when 'Eric the Red' sunk off the coast of southern Victoria.
Physical Description
Handwritten in black ink on cream lined letterhead paper. The final page has been turned and written across, so as to save paper.
