Summary

Octagonal metal identity tag from the Women's Auxiliary Australian Air Force. Found under the floorboards of the Gallery, Great Hall when replaced in 1989. The number 103502 belonged to Dorothy Lilian Hubbard. The name 'D.L. Quinn' on the tag is her maiden name - Dorothy Quinn married Reginald Benjamin Hubbard (service #409706) on 3 June 1944 after a short engagement. Dorothy was then serving with the Medical Section of the WAAAF, and Reginald was a Flight Officer with the RAAF. Dorothy's parents lived in Subiaco, Perth.

Dorothy enrolled to serve in Perth on 31 October 1942 and was an Aircraftwoman when she was discharged on 14 November 1944, four months after she married, and likely because she was pregnant. Her posting at the time of her discharge was 1 School of Technical Training Exhibition. On 2 May 1945 the West Australian newspaper announced the birth of Dorothy and Reg's son Kenneth at Kensington Nursing Home, Subiaco, Perth.
