Physical Description
Programme, with coloured front and eight pages long, of a Patriotic concert in the Auditorium on Thursday 10th September 1914. The artist included Madame Melba, Miss Ellen Terry, orchestras and choirs and other soloists. The programme included the national anthem, the Old Hundredth, Verdi, Elgar's 'Britons, Alert!' Elgar's Pomp and Circumstance, the mad scene from Lucia di Lammermoor, sung by Melba; a recitation of Kipling's 'Big Steamers' by Miss Ellen Terry, Rule Britannia, and a song, The Empire Flag, words by Stuart Reid and Wm. Alex Barrett of Victoria.
