This is a cream, metal meat safe. It was used from the mid 1940s to circa 1960 by the donor's aunt and uncle who married in 1944. A moulded lozenge with the letters "TES" is located on the front directly below the door.
Physical Description
A rectangular, cream painted, metal meat safe. The four sides are covered with wire mesh. Base and top solid metal sheets. FRONT: Diamond lozenge moulded bottom centre. Full area DOOR - hinged, wire catch handle and locking mechanism middle left. Wire decoration in shape of an X applied to full area. TOP: wire loop handle. INTERIOR: double hook, centre of roof. 1 removable metal tray/ shelf, centre of safe.
