Summary
Oil painting entitled 'Sir John Monash' by John Randell Perry. It was painted in 1979 'after Sir John Longstaff'.
The painting hung in Monash Gallery at the Museum of Victoria for many years. It commemorates the contribution made to the Science Museum of Victoria by Sir John Monash, who was the leader of a committee responsible for the re-opening of the museum galleries in 1915. Monash Hall was so named in 1970, after the National Gallery of Victoria vacated the space.
